An Unexpected Discovery
Earlier this morning as I was cleaning my basement, I came across a foreign-looking object. Our of curiosity, I decided to explore the gadget. Upon wiping off the thick layer of dust off its surface, I realised that I had uncover some sort of mechanism! I looks like some sort of weird-looking vehicle, with the metal bars all rusted and the windows smashed. It definitely needs a bit of cleaning and repairing to do, but I do wonder what it is for... This is the corner of my basement where I found the weird looking machine. It was hiding under some rotting wood and old, dusty carpets. Retrieved from https://www.kingofmaids.com/blog/dirty-job-clean-basement/ Update - September 04, 2022 It is now later in the say, about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I had thoroughly cleaned the machine and am now replacing all of the broken glass with new ones. I figure that the machine probably can be turned on already at this stage, but I think I will wait until I get to repair all of the broken and damaged parts, just to make sure that the machine can work properly before taking any chances. After all, it is a very bizarre object to find in one's basement. September 05, 2022 Ah! I worked on the machine over the weekend and am now confident to say that it works. I am just going to go and test it out in the basement. I repainted the rusty and peeling bits, fixed the seats, replaced the glass, and checked the engine is all ready to be started. I'm very excited, but there is a small voice, deep in my mind, warning me not to do what I am about to test out... I sit myself into the seat that is right behind the "steering wheel" (that the closest thing I can relate it to), fasten the seatbelts, one on my lap and two on my shoulders to make sure that I don't fall out. Because who knows where the ON button is going to take me? I still haven't figured out what the machine is for (which I am quite ashamed of), but that's what I'm doing - finding out! |
Here is a quick sketch of the machine I found in my basement. It doesn't look like anything one would usually find in their basement. It's very odd - I wonder what would happen if I just press that button... Retrieved from https://www.etsy.com/nz/listing/614139536/time-machine-hgwells-1960-film-a2
